Taking Office, de Blasio Vows to Fix Inequity

A future President? There is a lot of the line as De Blasio starts his term as the new Mayor of New York. He basically won on the theme of fixing the economic disparity between rich and poor. There are many concerned people out there, calling him a communist and thinking that he preaches pure socialism, but the voters have spoken loud and clear as he won in a landslide. Can he do it? That is the million (billion?) dollar question. He is trying to do this in one of the toughest places in the world with the lease affordable housing. Lots of people are watching this to see how it turns out. If it fails, things will remain pretty much the same and not much will be lost. But if it is successful, the possibilities are impressive. It will almost certainly be the formula that would be rolled out to the rest of the country, and more than likely eventually other countries. The entire economy would roar to life with the addition of so many new contributors. And this guy could one day be president. I can’t imagine that would happen for at least 5 – 10 years but it is very realistic if he is successful. The same people who elected Obama will vote for De Blasio if given the chance and this guy has ambition. This will be his legacy if he is to have one and he knows it. It could be a great story and I am rooting for him!! He can’t do it alone, so many other factors will have to also go his way to have a real chance at it. Time will tell, but it will happen quickly if it does. Maybe the time and place are finally right to have real chance take place.
