Fake Bomber - Deep In Debt

Well I was hoping that the story I posted last week of the bank thief with no weapon and looking for a home in jail would be an isolated incident. I am afraid not and that we will be seeing many more of these sad stories. This one is even worse. It seems like this guy actually wanted to be killed by the cops, and when that didn’t work out he realized that he will be just fine in jail. This will provide him with a home, regular meals and all for free. This kind of deal is going to be looking better and better to people as things continue to worsen for the poorest people in our society. At some point I hope that the government will realize that this option is much more expensive than fixing the programs and aid packages that were designed to help these people. We are going to pay for them one way or another and we certainly have a large enough prison population already.

How do people get to that point, where they are willing to commit a crime in order to get housing and food? This is clearly the beginning for many. You lose your insurance or have a medical issue that you can’t afford, that can be it. People can’t work regular hours, if they are not employed it makes it almost impossible to find a job, and they have children in many cases. You can see that these are people who want to work, who are desperately trying whatever they can to not be in this situation they are in. It is simply a heartbreaking story that is just unfolding now. Things will get worse before they get better.
