THE BOCA RATON BOWL? YES IT IS TRUE

Yes, it is true, Boca Raton did get its’ own college bowl game. It makes sense, since they just built a nice new football stadium there and have a new I – 95 exchange being built that will be ready in 2016 that takes one directly to campus. Sure, why not here? FAU, like the rest of the area, is growing and this is an event that should benefit the entire region. Aside from the obvious, with the teams and their fans coming to the area to stay, they hope that the business community will support it economically. I think that means placing ads, buying tickets and watching it on TV. What they seem most excited about is the fact that everyone around the country will be watching the area for 4 hours. You can bet that there will be many tourism ads during that time, along with pictures of beaches, palm trees and golf courses. It would be really cool if one day it attracted major college games instead of the marginal teams that are relegated to the Boca Raton Bowl. Can you imagine FSU playing Alabama here for the national title? That would be something, but you have to start somewhere and I am glad we have a bowl of any kind. I have been to the stadium once and it is very impressive, although not well attended. I actually saw Alfred Morris (NFL Pro Bowler who plays for the Washington Redskins) play and didn’t know who he was or that he would have a possible future in the NFL. FAU lost the game 30 – 0 but no one seemed to mind. It was like spring training baseball, only for college football. Check it out for yourself sometime. It is easy to get tickets and not expensive. If you haven’t heard, it is the new home of the Boca Raton Bowl!

Boca Raton Bowl expected to be lucrative for all of Palm Beach County
