Presidents Day!

We temporarily suspend our normal program for a reflection on President Washington, these words ring more true and more relevant than perhaps at any time in our history.

The foundation of our Empire was not laid in the gloomy age of Ignorance and Superstition, but at an Epocha when the rights of mankind were better understood and more clearly defined, than at any former period, the researches of the human mind, after social happiness, have been carried to a great extent, the Treasures of knowledge, acquired by the labours of Philosophers, Sages and Legislatures, through a long succession of years, are laid open for our use, and their collected wisdom may be happily applied in the Establishment of our forms of Government; the free cultivation of Letters, the unbounded extension of Commerce, the progressive refinement of Manners, the growing liberality of sentiment, and above all, the pure and benign light of Revelation, have had a meliorating influence on mankind and increased the blessings of Society. At this auspicious period, the United States came into existence as a Nation, and if their Citizens should not be completely free and happy, the fault will be entirely their own.

This is not a history lesson, but a call to action, and I'm going to extract the most relevant musings to our business and our undertakings.

Tenants and Landlords, which are the two major constituents in our South Florida Commercial Real Estate Brokerage, are both in business for the purpose of growing their business. What our first President called

It is with the unbounded hope of self advancement in the business world that we all, my clients, and myself, take that unbounded leap of faith into the uncertain world of "commerce", put a stake in the sand, and bet it all on our success. I am proud to be a facilitator of you who are in pursuit of "the unbounded extension of commerce" and proud to also rank myself among you, as I am also, like you, in pursuit of my dreams.

Washington points out that there are many players that increase greatness of our country. He points to Philosophers, Sages, Legislatures, and us, the entrepreneurs. We all have our roles to play.

His ending words, are as prophetic as any we have heard from any president. His ending words in this circular speak to many of my postings on social justice, and shows why the building of business cannot live without the marriage of the greater world around us.

We all have our role to play, philosophers, teachers, Legislatures, but we are responsible for our own joys. As an entrepreneur, and in the company of entrepreneurs, I chose to pursue my path, and my contribution through "the unbounded extension of Commerce."
